Village of Ardino
-
The village of Ardino is nestled amidst the alpine evergreen forests in the heart of the Rodopa mountain range. The crisp air is filled with the scent of woodsmoke and wet soil, announcing winter’s undeniable arrival. The beaten path toward Ardino winds and weaves beneath the pines, the ground beneath you painted with dried pine needles and scattered pinecones.
History
Long ago, a famous hero named Bogdan “The Bright” Yaremir was the first person to build a residence on the land that would become the village of Ardino. He was famous not only for his deeds, but also for his great skill in masonry. In fact, his skill was so great that it gained him the favor of the patron god of crafts and creation, Svarog. Bogdan is still a famous historical figure, and his legacy is the main reason people have heard of this part of the world.
Geography
The small village of Ardino is located in the province of Mednogorsk in the great Queendom of Whirlwind. In recent years, the crown has taken an interest in Ardino, as old sources speak of the existence of large quantities of alatnir crystal in the area. Aiming to command this valuable resource, the crown appointed a noble from Mednogorsk as the new mayor of Ardino: the arcanist Izzetta Selim.

The Tzar's Stables Inn
The Tsar’s Stables is a famous inn located on Ardino’s village square. Built by the legendary Bogdan “The Bright’’ Yaremir, this stone building’s expert craftsmanship is obvious. In addition, Bogdan warded the edifice against undead and fiends (as per the hallow spell). The Yaremir family crest is etched atop the front door of the inn. The copper tiles adorning the roof are a signature element of the archi- tectural style of the Copper City of Mednogorsk.
The Village Hall
The village hall wasn’t always the seat of rulership that it is today. Not in the political sense, at least. During the days of the first mason and founder of Ardino, this villa was Bogdan Yaremir’s personal residence and holiday home. The villa, along with The Tsar’s Stables inn and winery and the Yaremir Mansion, features copper tiles on its roofs, symbolizing the feudal connection and relation- ship to the Copper City of Mednogorsk.
Years ago, the villa was gifted to the village as a heritage site and a reminder that humble beginnings can lead to great deeds. Through the years, the villa was extended and remodeled to become the village hall it is today and the residence of the mayor of Ardino. A portion of it remains a museum dedicated to the Yaremir family and their accomplishments.
